New York Times Best-Selling Author &
National Geographic Contributing Writer
I’m Jennifer Holland—thanks for stopping by my website. I hope you find what you’re looking for here.
I have one more UNLIKELY book on the way. UNLIKELY FRIENDSHIPS: DOGS will be out in August 2016 and I’ll be on tour throughout the fall! Also, please keep looking out for UNLIKELY HEROES, with its amazing true tales of animal heroism. And, if you love animals, of course I recommend my first two books, UNLIKELY FRIENDSHIPS and UNLIKELY LOVES. I’m proud to say all three books debuted as best sellers!
On the side, I’ve been posting personal essays (with a science bent) on this wonderful blog, The Last Word on Nothing. Check it out.
I’m available for speaking engagements–for kids and adults. For more information, please contact Carol Schneider at Workman’s Speakers’ Bureau, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Finally, a little about my work: I write about everything from parasites to primates, from volcanoes to venom, from stem cells to acid seas. As a senior staff writer at National Geographic magazine, I produced more than 50 features and news pieces over some 10 years. Then came the first best-selling book. I left the staff to pursue several more book projects while keeping my hand in NGM as a contributing writer. I now spend most of my days tapping away at the keyboard in my sun-filled home office, dogs at my feet.
If you have time, please watch/listen to this hilarious (and informative!) ze frank video about my very cool creature mascot, the cuttlefish.
Please poke around this site to see more about who I am and what I’ve done—and to order my books! If you need additional information, shoot me an email. If I’m out muddying my boots somewhere far away—which I hope I am—I’ll reply as soon as I’m home again.
